Prospect- Mrs. Arlene E. (Purdy) Gagnon, age 88, of 170 Scott Rd., passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of Raymond Gagnon. Mrs. Gagnon was born on November 28, 1921 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Harry and Emma (Mortison) Purdy. She retired from WARC where she worked as an Office Manager for many years and was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waterbury. Mrs. Gagnon is survived by two sons, Richard M. Gagnon and his wife Carol of Waterbury and Robert J. Gagnon and his wife Bonnie of Wolcott, four grandchildren, Steven Gagnon, Paula Gabriel, Jason Gagnon and Jamie Gray and four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Gagnon, Nate Gabriel, Ryan Gabriel and Breanna Lupachino. She is predeceased by her sister Ruth Knudsen. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church 1555 Hamilton Ave. Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd., Rte 69, Prospect on Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Waterbury Special Olympics, 61 Putting Green Lane, Prospect, Ct. 06712 Attention: Rich Kalcznski.
