Beth Hilton Obituary

Wolcott-Beth Amy Hilton, 55 passed from this life into the waiting arms of her parents Ross and Barbara (Merrill) Hilton late Sunday evening, September 5, 2010 at her home in Wolcott. She was born on September 28, 1954 in Hartford. Her parents took her home to Bolton where she resided for the first few years of her life. She spent most of her time at school, swimming at the lake outside her home and playing with her dog Coco and family. She loved family functions and was always ready to play a tick or hide on someone making them laugh. Her journey as an adult took her to Bristol and finally to Wolcott where she lived the rest of her life. She worked for Prime Care at the Bread Basket Bakery where she loved decorating cookies and cupcakes. She also had other miscellaneous jobs through Prime Care. She was a Special Olympian for most of her adult life. She won many ribbons participating in baseball throw, 50 and 100 yard dash and swimming. Beth loved to shop for pretty jewelry and clothes. She also loved to have her hair and nails done to match her outfits. She loved music, dancing and going to parties with all her friends. For Beth, the best time was when she was around all her friends laughing and having a great time. She was a free spirit that glowed all the time. She made everyone that came in contact with her smile and when they walked away from her they had a feeling that something special had just happened to them. It did, they met Beth. She is survived by two brothers, Hudson Hilton of Coventry and Charles Hilton and his wife Shelly and their two sons Ross and Shane of Bolton, two sisters Julie Zurlo and her two sons Benjamin and Daniel of Washington and Martha Baskerville of Manchester and her three daughters, Tori Bolduc, Terri Olson and Ethelene Howard. Beth loved children and leaves eight great nieces and nephews. Her kindness, gentle touch and love for them will remain in their hearts forever. We, Beth’s immediate family would like to express our deepest gratitude to her New Foundations, Inc. family. They fulfilled her mentally, physically and spiritually with their endless nurturing, love and encouragement as any family would. It was because of this wonderful family that Beth’s life was pretty close to perfect. Also we would like to thank the Bristol Hospital Hospice Care program for educating and supporting her families and making sure that Beth’s quality of life was never compromised. Beth was truly an angel sent to us to teach us the simplicity of life. As recipients of this gift we must always remember to pass it on to others as we go forth in our life journey. Thank you Beth Amy for sharing your glow. You will live on in our hearts forever. A private burial will be in Thompson. Arrangements for a 'Celebration of Life Party' for family and friends will be announced at a later date. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect is in charge of arrangements.
