Carmen Guarino

Carmen Antonio Guarino 17 June 1925 An independent, self-employed barber supplier dating back to the 1950's. Carmen Guarino represented such brands as Consort, Clubman, Stephans, Jeris, Hask, Oster, Whal and Andis. It was the strong relationship he built with the Connecticut barbers which led to a lifelong membership in the Union; one of only a few non-barbers ever to receive this honor. Beginning in 1968 Carmen successfully introduced and established a strong Connecticut presence for the ROFFLER SCULPTUR KUT franchise system. For the next two decades his devotion to the industry and its people brought him much respect and lifetime friendships. In his early sixties Carmen and his beloved wife, Julia, retired; relocating to Scottsdale, Arizona. Here, they enjoyed an active social life. Free time allowed him to listen to the music he always loved and spend time cooking favorite recipes. Frequent visits from his children and grandchildren kept him close to his family. The son of the late Nicola Guarino and Maria Giangiacomo Guarino, he is survived by his wife Julia (Ciarlelli) Guarino, two sons, Joseph and Gary Guarino, one daughter, Liz-Beth Kennard, three grandchildren, and two sisters. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St, Naugatuck for a mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
