Charles J. Noble Obituary

Charles J. Noble, Jr., 86, of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Naugatuck, CT, died April 16, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Born in Waterbury, CT, he was educated in Naugatuck schools.


During the Second World War, Mr. Noble was a member of the 110th AAA Gun Battalion, 1st Army, and participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. He was a member of the first Anti-Aircraft Battery to land on Omaha Beach.


One of the original members of the Naugatuck Historical Society, Mr. Noble was also a Life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He retired from Prudential Financial after 33 years of service.


Mr. Noble is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia; daughter Louelin Noble Groth and her husband Kenneth of Wallingford, CT and Venice, FL; son Charles J. Noble III and his wife Melorie of Hamden, CT; and three grandchildren: Audra L. Noble, Charles J. Noble IV, and Claire E. Noble. He is also survived by his sister Margaret "Sis" Gillette Gaucher, of Melbourne, FL. He is predeceased by his brother Thomas K. Noble of Boynton Beach, FL.


The funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck is in charge of the arrangements.
