Charles A. Verceski Uniroyal retiree NAUGATUCK — Mr. Charles A. Verceski, 96, formerly of 200 North Hoadley St., died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at Beacon Brook Health Care Center in Naugatuck. He was the husband of Mattie (Taylor) Verceski. Mr. Verceski was born in Naugatuck on Jan. 15, 1915. He was retired from the Uniroyal Inc. Footwear Division where he worked for many years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his home in Vermont. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Besides his wife, Mr. Verceski is survived by three daughters, Joan Ciasullo of Waterbury, Carol Butkevich of Winsted, and Sue Schmelcke of Naugatuck; a stepbrother, Joseph Adamaitis of Beacon Falls; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Verceski's family would like to thank the staff of the Beacon Brook Health Care Center and the hospice aide for the wonderful care that they provided. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
