Cheshire-Charlotte (Huempfner) DiLorenzo Bauer, 83, of 257 East Mitchell Ave, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was the widow of Bernard DiLorenzo and Helmut Bauer . Mrs. Bauer was born on June 13, 1927 in Mannheim, Germany a daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Apfel) Huempfner. She worked as a nanny for many years before retiring. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Detlefsen and her husband Tom of Prospect, one son, Christopher DiLorenzo of Wolcott, her sister in law, Dorothy DiLorenzo of Middlebury, two grandsons, Alexander and Benjamin Detlefsen. She will also be missed by her dear friends the DeLeo family and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, East Main St, Waterbury. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect is in charge of the arrangements.
