Diane McManus

Naugatuck, CT Diane McManus, age 71, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2021 in her home in Naugatuck. She was born on October 8, 1949 in Flushing, New York daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline Daniel, Jr. Diane grew up in Hicksville, NY graduating from Hicksville High School in 1967. She attended Naugatuck Valley Community College graduating in 2000 with an Associates Degree in Computer Applications with a concentration in Accounting. She worked in the Waterbury Public School System for over 20 years, having recently retired in 2020 as the Senior Administrative Assistant at Wallace Middle School. Diane was an avid gardener, animal lover, and a talented seamstress. Diane enjoyed spending time crafting, at the beach and taking long drives in her BMW. For those who knew Diane, know what she enjoyed most was time spent with her loved ones, especially her children and granddaughters. Diane was a beloved mother and grandmother and particularly enjoyed spoiling her grandkids. Diane is survived by her children; John McManus IV and his wife Diana, Michael McManus and his wife Kristin, Daniel McManus, and Lisa McManus, grandchildren Emma and Avery McManus, Bryan and Thomas Workiewicz, sister Margaret Kay and her husband Peter of NC, and furry friends Bella and Max. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00am at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Walk-through calling hours are Wednesday from 6-8pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Everyone attending Diane’s services is required to wear a facial covering and to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
