Dolores B. Merancy 1935 - 2020 Naugatuck, CT Dolores B. Merancy, 85, the widow of Edward S. Merancy, Sr., died peacefully on August 15, 2020 in the VITAS Hospice Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital. Dolores was born on April 11, 1935 in New York, the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Bigert and had lived in Naugatuck for the past 57 years. Dolores is survived by her beloved grandchildren, John and his wife Nujoud, Jason, Lori, Kara, Kirby and her husband Greg and Kassie; her great grandchildren, Rebekah, Zara, Xavier, Grace Elizabeth and Gregory; her daughter in law, Nadine Merancy and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her sons, Edward S. Merancy, Jr., Ronald “Rick” Merancy and Joseph Merancy; her daughter, Donna Locke and her brother, Frank Bigert. A Service will be Wednesday at 11:30am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Wednesday from 9:30am to 11:30am. Everyone attending is required to wear a facial covering and to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Donations in memory of Dolores can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708.
