Prospect – Dora Ann Lawlor, 69, passed away in the VITAS Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital on October 18, 2018. For 50 years, she was the loving wife of Thomas V. Lawlor, Sr. Dora was born on January 29, 1949, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Charles and Vincenza (Mennillo) Rek and was a longtime Prospect resident. Dora worked as a bookkeeper in the Naugatuck Tax office for many years. In addition to her husband, Tom, she is survived by her son, Thomas C. Lawlor and his wife, Melissa; her daughter, Anna Ouimet and her husband, Mark; four grandchildren, Kaylee Lawlor Ouimet, Thomas Charles Lawlor, Jr., Jack Ryan Lawlor and Kassidy Lawlor Ouimet; two sisters, Donna Horigan and her husband, Brian and Margie Sarnik, and her husband, Philip; her aunt, Dolly Perugini; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00am at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 25 Maple Avenue, Beacon Falls. Burial, at a later date, will be private. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Dora’s memory, contributions can be made to the VITAS Unit, St. Mary’s Hospital, 56 Franklin Street, Waterbury, CT 06706.
