Edward Korowotny Obituary

Naugatuck-Edward S. Korowotny, 76 passed away August 9, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family, after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn (Best) Korowotny. Ed was born January 23, 1936 in Waterbury, son of the late Stella (Zbikowski) and Alexander Korowotny. A lifelong resident of Naugatuck growing up in the Union City section of town, he was a graduate of St. Hedwig's School and Naugatuck High School, Class of 1953. He graduated from Kaynor Technical School, class of 1957. Ed proudly served three years in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC. After being discharged, he began his career working at Precision Methods and Machines in 1960. He retired as foreman from Howard Engineering in 2001, after many years of service. Ed always enjoyed his work, and all the men that he worked with. He was a member of Polish Falcons Nest 65 and the Naugatuck Elks Club and was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed coaching his children on the baseball and softball fields, and loved following the Chicago Bears and New York Yankees. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his children and grandchildren and their large circle of friends. Ed and Marilyn enjoyed many fun vacations with their family and in later years with their friends. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck. In addition to his wife, Ed is also survived by his four beloved children and their spouses, Ed (and Mary) Korowotny, Lisa (and Tony) Rotella, Susan (and Carl) Lafevre and Jim (and Maureen) Korowotny, and his cherished grandchildren, Molly, Emma, Erin, Meghan and James Korowotny, all of Naugatuck and Terilyn Esse, and her husband Todd of Fairfield, and Ed Barbuto and his wife Eilish of Naugatuck who were just like his own children to him. He also leaves his brother in law, Jim Best and his wife Arline, five nephews, a niece and several cousins. The family would like to thank all of their friends for the tremendous support given them throughout Ed's Illness. A special thanks to all of his doctors and their staffs, and also to the Waterbury VNA nurses and aides for their excellent care. Ed always said he had a good life, good family and good friends.
