<p>Elizabeth “Betty” Carey</p><p>Beloved Wife and Mother</p><p>WATERBURY- Elizabeth “Betty” G. Carey, 72, wife of John F. Carey, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.</p><p>Betty was born on June 27, 1946, in Waterbury, a daughter of Gerard and Stella (Sopko) Bilbow. Betty was a trusting, loving, and caring person; who took care of everyone, especially her family, when they needed help. She loved animals, especially cats. She was also a very talented artist, who loved painting seasonal window displays for local business and on her bay window at home. </p><p>In addition to her husband of 52 years, John, Betty is survived by her son, John M. Carey; her granddaughter, Samantha LaRose; her nieces Kathy and Deborah; her nephew, Michael; and her brother, Patrick. Betty now goes to join her daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” Carey; her parents; and her sister, Josephine Gelinas. </p><p>There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Monday, June 3, 2019, in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.
