Prospect, Connecticut - Mrs. Elizabeth Ann "Betty" (Doyle) Dickman, age 77, of Prospect, died Tuesday September 20,2011 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the wife of Alec Dickman Sr having been happily married for 54 years. Mrs. Dickman was born in Waterbury on November 24,1933 a daughter of the late James Doyle Sr. and the late Rosemary (Dupre) Doyle. She was retired from Somers Thin Strip where she worked as a purchasing agent and also formerly worked for many years for the Region 16 School District as a secretary at Long River Middle School. She was a communicant of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Prospect and was a member of the St. Anthony's Ladies Guild. She enjoyed playing Bingo at St. Anthony's and also spending many Winters with her husband at their home in Bradenton, Florida. Besides her husband, Mrs. Dickman is survived by three sons: Alex Dickman Jr. and his wife Alexia of Southbury, David Dickman and his wife Lori of Prospect and Raymond Dickman and his wife Colleen of York, S.C., a sister: Mary Ellen Ianniruberto of Rhode Island, four grandchildren: Danielle and Steven Dickman of Prospect and Kelsey and Ashlynn Dickman of S.C. and several nieces and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by her three loving animals Lucky, Czar and Snickers. The funeral will be held on Friday September 23,2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 26 Waterbury Rd. Route 69 Prospect to St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church 4 Union City Rd. Prospect for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday September 22,2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Hospital VITAS Hospice Unit 56 Franklin St. Waterbury, Ct. 06706.
