Felix Cichowski

Storrs - Mr. Felix F. Cichowski, age 92, of 799 Middle Turnpike, died Saturday December 4, 2010 at the St. Joseph's Living Center in Willimantic. He was the husband of Frances (Tylec) Cichowski. Mr. Cichowski was born in Naugatuck, on November 8, 1918. He was the son of the late Felix Cichowski and the late John and Eugenia (Cichowski) Liskiewicz. He worked as a Tool and Die maker for the Draher Machine Company in Waterbury and served as an auxillary State Trooper for the Bethany Barracks for many years. He was also employed by the Holgrath Corporation in Waterbury where he was instrumental in designing the first hypodermic needle for both infants and the elderly. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck. Mr. Cichowski was a United States Navy veteran having served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Cowpens during World War II. Besides his wife, Mr. Cichowski is survived by his son, Gregory Cichowski and his wife Emine of Storrs, a daughter, Barbara Vargoshe, and her husband Ric of Woodbury, 3 grandchildren, Erol Chicowski of New York, Leyla and her husband, Stephen Nichols of Newtown, and Nicholas Vargoshe of Woodbury. He also had one great grandchild: Arri Nichols. Funeral services and burial with full military honors will be held at a time to be announced. There are no calling hours.
