Beacon Falls, CT Frances Jean (Massimino) Silvestro, 96, the widow of Salvatore J. Silvestro, died peacefully, Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Beacon Brook Health Center. Frances was born June 14, 1918 in Bridgeport, CT a daughter of the late Ignazio and Elizabeth (Giddio) Massimino and was a former resident of Beacon Falls. Frances was a former parishioner of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, a former member of the Beacon Falls Senior Center and a loyal Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Mets fan. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law, who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed singing, dancing and horseback riding. Frances is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Bob Kiernan, her son Marc Silvestro, her grandchildren Michael Kiernan and his wife Su Jung, Christopher Kiernan and his wife Kim, her great grandchildren, Hanna, Everett, Lily and Meena. Fran was predeceased by her sisters, Carolyn Marchese, Elizabeth Sikorski and Edith Attianese, and her brother, Joseph Massimino. Private Funeral Services and burial were held Thursday, April 9, 2015. To honor Frances’s memory, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Connecticut Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
