"Loving wife and mother" Prospect-Francisca Teixeira Dias, age 49, of Prospect, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 21, 2010. She was the loving wife of Mario Dias and Mother of Christina and Cecelia Dias. Fran was born on October 5, 1960, in Redondelo Chaves, Portugal. Besides her husband and daughters, Fran is survived by her parents Americo Vaz and Maria Helena Teixeira of Naugatuck; five sisters, Amelia Esteves, Conceicao Alves, Albertina Esteves, Anna Maria Teixeira, all of Naugatuck, and Lucille Fontes of Prospect; and one brother Antonio Teixeira of Watertown. She also leaves many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends. Fran graduated from Naugatuck High School in 1979 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University in 1983. Throughout her life she was recognized for her exceptional academic and athletic achievements. Fran always aspired to be the best; her determination was shown through her career as a Senior Auditor for Medicare for over 20 years. Fran enjoyed gymnastics, cooking, planting flowers, and entertaining at her home. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed cheering on her daughters at every soccer game. Fran's first priority was always her family and friends. Her strength and courage carried her loved ones and touched the hearts of many. The funeral will be held Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte 69, Prospect to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery.
