George Sample

Naugatuck, CT George Sample, 51, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital. George was born on March 21, 1964 in New York, NY; he had a beautiful spirit and was especially fond of the 23rd Psalm. He was a thoughtful and wise source of advice and strength to all that knew him. George is survived by his loving mother, Leola Sample and her partner Joseph Fishbane of Brooklyn, NY; Joseph’s son, Danny Fishbane and his wife, Arlene, of Mt. Kisco, NY; and his cousins, Cathy Sample of Brooklyn, NY and Billie Jean Sample of Selma, AL. George sadly leaves behind Jody Val Ruskouski, his devoted and loving partner and fiancée of over 25 years; he also leaves behind the family he shared with Jody for all those years as a loving uncle and brother in law, Kathy and Chris Miszkiewicz of Wingdale, NY and their sons, C.T., Nicky and Matthew and their families; Paul Poland of N.H., his daughters Amanda, Debi, Lora and his son Jason; Wallace Ruskouski and Chelsie, and their son Wyett of Malone, NY; Allen, Phyllis and June Sloper and Theresa Gauthier of Willsboro, NY; Brian Ruskouski and his family of Jacksonville, NC; the Ballentine family, Katie and Lewis and their children of St. Albans, NY. George was predeceased by his uncles Bobby Sample and Josh Sample, both of Alabama; cousin Dottie of California; and Kathy and Joan Sloper of Willsboro, NY. All services are private and there are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue.
