Harry Bishop

Clermont, FL-Harry W Bishop, Jr., 86, formerly of Prospect passed away on Friday May 17, 2013. He was the husband of the late Corine (Fram) Bishop. He was born in Madison, son of the late Harry and Jennie Bishop, he lived in Prospect before moving to Clermont, FL 11years ago. Mr. Bishop was a US Navy Veteran, serving in Iwo Jima during WW II. He also served in the Korean War. He worked for the Eastern Company, Naugatuck before retiring in 1991. He was a member and past commander of the VFW, Prospect, a member of the CT Iwo Jima survivors and the Masons. He leaves behind a step-son, Joseph F. (Roberta) Dacey of Clermont FL, 3 grandchildren Donna M. Dacey, Jennifer D. (Eric) Nielsen and Helene E. Dacey and 5 great-grandchildren. A graveside service with be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., All Saints Cemetery, 203 Spring Lake Road, Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the cemetery. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to: Iwo Jima Survivor, 35 Hemlock Rd, Branford CT 06405.
