Hilda Dillon

Naugatuck, CT Hilda I. (Stahl) Dillon, 93, the widow of John J. Dillon, died peacefully on November 30, 2017 at Beacon Brook Health Center. Hilda was born on February 12, 1924 in Turbotville, PA the eldest daughter of the late Franklin and Florence (Dreisbach) Stahl and had lived in Naugatuck for most of her life. Hilda was a retired employee of Peter Paul and was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Hilda will always be remembered as a loving mother not only to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but to everyone fortunate enough to have met her. She had a great sense of humor, and always carried herself with dignity. She kept peace within her soul and now she is at peace with God. Hilda is survived by her sons, John Dillon and his wife Martina, Richard Dillon and his wife Patricia and Joseph Dillon and his wife Paula; her daughter, Susan Paznokas and her husband William; her brother, Melvin Stahl and his wife Pauline, her sister, Patricia Sheatler and her husband Robert; her 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Hilda was predeceased by her daughter, Kathryn San Angelo; her brothers Robert, Clair and Myron Stahl and her sisters, Lorraine Hamrick and Ruth Yoder. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Family and friends may call Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Hilda’s memory, contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of your choice.
