Isabel S. DaSilva

Greer, SC Isabel S. DaSilva, age 96, passed away in Greer, SC on March 1, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Domingos and Ana Soares Carinha, and widow of Domingos J. DaSilva, who passed away in 1993. Born in Indiana, Isabel was raised in Portugal, returned to the US in 1940 and lived in Naugatuck, CT until her relocation to SC in 2009. She was retired from Uniroyal Footwear, and was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Clube Uniao Portuguesa in Naugatuck. She was a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi in CT and at St. Mary Magdalene in SC. Isabel is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Rendeiro , her granddaughter, Michele (Kenneth) McConnell, two great-grandsons, Robert and Michael (who called her Vo Bel) all of Greer, SC, nephew, nieces, cousins and friends. She was also predeceased by an infant daughter, son-in-law Nick Rendeiro, her brother and sister-in-law, Angelo and Mary Soares, and half-siblings, Jose Carinha and Rosa Carinha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 6 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Church. Everyone attending is required to wear a facial covering and to adhere to social distancing guidelines. The family will have a private interment in St. James Cemetery and there are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck is assisting the family with arrangements. The family requests that donations be made in Isabel’s memory to St. Francis Church Building Fund, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770, or to Ecumenical Food Bank, 75 Spring Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
