<p>Naugatuck, CT James Francis Fenton, 78, passed away on February 10, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was the husband of Marty-Lee Seitzer Fenton for 55 years. </p><p><br></p><p>Jim was born on August 25, 1939 in Waterbury, CT a son of the late David William and Anne Marie Fenton and lived in Naugatuck all of his life. Jim graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1957 and then enlisted in the United States Army. Jim retired from Uniroyal Chemical, where he worked as a Chemical Operator for over 26 years. </p><p><br></p><p>Jim’s passion for baseball began at the age of 10 at Peter J. Foley, continued throughout high school and into the U.S Army. Jim played baseball throughout Europe while stationed in Heilbronn, Germany. Upon discharge from the army, Jim married Marty-Lee Seitzer, his “True Love” and began their family together. Jim later developed a passion for golfing. He won many championships and made many special friends. Jim was inducted into the Naugatuck Hall of Fame in 2014 for his sports accomplishments. Jim loved working for Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home after his retirement from Uniroyal Chemical, but Jim’s biggest love came from his family and friends. </p><p><br></p><p>Jim is survived by his wife, Marty-Lee Fenton of Naugatuck; his daughters, GailAnn Brouillette (Todd) of Naugatuck, CT, Sherlyn Tetreault (Marc) of Plainville, MA, Deborah Twaddle (Daniel) of Bristol, CT and Suzanne Depatie of Torrington, CT; his brothers, Robert and Jack Fenton both of Naugatuck, CT; his grandchildren, Sarah Leonard (Allen), Reginald and Jacquelyn Brouillette, Deanna, James “JP”, Nicholas and Daniel Depatie; his great grandchildren, Brody, Caden and Lucie Leonard; his brother and sister in law, James Seitzer (Judy) of Torrington, CT; his sister in law, Donna Fay of Las Vegas, NV and several nieces, nephews and cousins. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brother William Fenton. </p><p><br></p><p>The family would also like to thank the caring friends at Connecticut Hospice - Shelton Home Care, Rebecca, Kristine, Alvin and Carrie for all of their help with Jim’s care.</p><p><br></p><p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Everyone attending is asked to please go directly to church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-8pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will assemble on Thursday at 7:30pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Jim’s memory, donations can be made to Peter J. Foley Little League, 299 Scott St., P.O. Box 452, Naugatuck, CT 06770 or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 350 Millville Ave., Naugatuck, CT 06770.</p>
