James P. Healy Devoted father of 10 James Patrick Healy, age 59, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, with his broken-hearted family embracing him with their love. Jim leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of thirty eight years, Debra and their ten children, James (Ali), Dane (Christine), Caitlin, Brittany (Kevin), Clancy, Rory, Sullivan, Roisin, Callahan, and Colleena along with his six grandsons - Patrick, Liam, Callum, Benjamin, James, and Cooper. Jim was born on June 26, 1959, at St. Mary's Hospital to the late Joseph and Rosemary Healy. He is also survived by his sisters, Patty, Mary, and Rosie and his brothers Joe, John, Vin, Bill, Tim, and Mike as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. Jim was an employee of the Naugatuck Public Schools. As president of the local union, he represented his fellow employees with fairness and respect. Jim also called hundreds of athletic contests as an official for area football, basketball, and baseball games and was well respected for his knowledge and the fairness of his calls. To further support his family, Jim delivered local newspapers throughout the area for many years. Jim played golf with the Hop Brook Golf League, a passion he was recently able to enjoy after his years of endless hard work to support his large family. Jim's wife and children invite family and friends to celebrate and share memories of Jim's incredible life and legacy Thursday between the hours of 3 and 7pm. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. All other services will be private. In lieu of flowers, Jim's family asks that donations in his memory be made to The James P. and Debra Fitzgerald Healy Foundation, a scholarship foundation established in 2010 by his ten children as a gift of gratitude to their parents.
