Pleasureville, KY - James Clayton Walters Jr.(Waldo) , age 71, formerly of Prospect, died on March 6, 2013. He was the husband of Regina (Boisvert) Walters for 51 years. Jim was born on July 19, 1941, in Prospect, the son of the late James Clayton Walters Sr and Lillian (Bernier) Walters. He was a graduate of Prospect Grammar School and was the last graduating class of Leavenworth High School in 1959. Jim was a mechanical engineer and worked designing steel rolling mills most of his career. He was the owner of JC Walters Company and retired as Vice President of Engineering from Steel Technologies in 2006. Waldo took great pride in mentoring his protégé’s who went on to successful careers. Waldo was a proud lifetime member of the NRA and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He was a member of the Jefferson County Gun Club. During his life in Prospect he was a Boy Scout, Scout Master for Troop 27 and Prospect Pop Warner Football Coach. Waldo was an avid hunter, enjoyed tinkering on his farm and restoring John Deere tractors. He loved sharing all of these things with his family and many friends. He will be remembered for his encyclopedia of jokes and numerous Waldo stories. Besides his beloved wife of 51 years, Jim is survived by his four children, daughter Lisa Walters of Pleasureville, KY; son James Clayton Walters III and his partner, Trinette, of East Lyme; daughter Kim LaChance and her husband, Greg, of Prospect; daughter, Heidi Bastin and her husband Tim, of New Salisbury, IN; his eight grandchildren, James, Kelsey, Amanda, Peter, Sarah, Devan, Trevor, Addison and great grandson Matthew. He leaves his brother, George Joseph Walters Sr and his wife, Linda, of Waterbury. He also leaves two aunts an uncle; and many sister in-laws, brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends to mourn his loss. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery.
