Jeannette St. John

Middlebury - Mrs. Jeannette L. (Paradis) St.John, age 101, of 178 Bronson Drive, died Tuesday February 16,2010 at her home. She was the widow of Thomas F. St.John Sr. Mrs. St.John was born in Springfield, MA on November 10,1908 a daughter of the late Adelard and Alice (Barbour) Paradis. She attended schools in Bridgeport, Ct and was a graduate of Booth and Bayliss College. She was a 1930 graduate of the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and was retired as a Registered Nurse having worked at Waterbury and St. Mary's Hospital for many years. She also served as treasurer of a family owned construction company and was a volunteer with the American Red Cross during the Flood of 1955. Mrs. St. John is survived by a son: Edward B. St. John of Middlebury, one sister: May Long of Woodbury, a sister in law: Jill St.John of Woodbury, five grandchildren: Kim Christiano, Thomas St.John, Heather St.John, Christopher St.John and Gretchen St.John and eight great grandchildren: Meghan St.John, Brittany St.John, Christopher St.John, Cody St.John, Thomas Christiano, Nicholas Christiano, Trevor St.John and Emma St.John. She was predeceased by her beloved husband: Thomas F. St.John Jr and a son: Thomas F. St.John III. Private funeral services and burial in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck will be held at the convenience of the family. There arse no calling hours. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 82 Fairview Ave. Naugatuck is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Memorial Fund at the Middlebury Public Library 65 Crest Road Middlebury, Ct. 06762.
