John Holland

John E. Holland Uniroyal retiree NAUGATUCK - John E. (Jack) Holland, 75, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Rose (Retkowski) Holland. Jack was born on Aug. 12, 1937, in Waterbury, a son of the late William Holland and Ann Lokites. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from the Uniroyal Chemical plant in Naugatuck. Besides his wife of 59 years, he is survived by his daughters, Maryann McClean and her husband David, Jo-Ann Holland, Jacalyn Holland, Francine Gliford and her husband John, and Heather Bearz and her husband Howard. He is also survived by two sons, Joseph and his wife Kristen, and Patrick and his wife Melissa. He will also be missed by his 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and especially his grandson, John E. Holland. Jack is also survived by his brother, Wade, and his sister, Noreen Snyder. He was predeceased by his brother, Phillip, and his sister, Nancy. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July, 3 2013, at 9:15 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, to St Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047 (www.lbda.org).
