Wolcott - Mr. Joseph J. Scarano, age 95, formerly of 20 Wolf Hill Road, died Wednesday February 3, 2010 at the Paradigm Health Care Center in Waterbury. He was the husband of Dorothea (Willey) Scarano. <br>Mr. Scarano was born in Bronx, New York on November 15, 1914 son of the late Arthur and Adeline (Carucci) Scarano. He was retired from Electronics for Medicine in White Plains, New York where he worked as a field service engineer. He was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Wolcott. Mr Scarano was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed repairing things. <br>Besides his wife, Mr. Scarano is survived by a daughter: Alena Scarano of Fairfield, three sons: Arthur Scarano of Virginia, Joseph Scarano of New Hampshire and Stephen Scarano of New Milford, a sister: Lillian Arena of Goshen, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one niece and two nephews. He was predeceased by a sister: Anna Novotny. <br>A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 12 Ardsley Rd, Waterbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
