Prospect -Joyce A. (Gunderman) Gentile, 80, of Prospect, died surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Waterbury Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Benjamin A. Gentile, Sr. Joyce was born on June 18, 1930 in Endicott, NY, daughter of the late Charles H. and Julia Mae (Gale) Gunderman. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Prospect where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and also was a member of the Prospect Senior Citizens. She enjoyed making crafts and was an avid seamstress and quilter. Joyce was a loving and caring wife, mother, Nonni and friend. She is survived by two sons, Benjamin A. Gentile, Jr. and his wife Mary of East Lyme and David A. Gentile and his wife Debra of Wesley Chapel, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Colleen Gentile of Shelton and four grandchildren, Christopher A. Gentile, Michael R. Gentile, Melissa M.Gentile and Emily R. Gentile. She was predeceased by one son, Charles A. Gentile. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church. Burial is at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect is in charge of the arrangements.
