Naugatuck, CT Lillian A. (Scheithe) (Fatek) Hanson, 99, the widow of Edward Hanson, died peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at her home.
Lillian was born in Union City, CT the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Royle) Scheithe and had lived in Naugatuck all of her life. She was a retired employee of the footwear division of Uniroyal, Inc. and a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Barbara Winslow (Gaylord Sanford); her son, Edward Hanson (Vickie); her son, Jeff Hanson (Donna); her step-son, Dwight Hanson Colella(Pat); her grandchildren, Denise Winslow, Ronald “Chuck” Winslow, Jr. (Kai), Keith Winslow (Chris), Larry Hanson, Sean Cummings (Jennifer), Katherine Grudzien (Steve), Chris Cummings (Christine), Jason Hanson and Amanda Bruce (Brandon); her 17 great grandchildren and her great great grandson. In addition to her husband and her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her son in law, Ronald Winslow, Sr., and her brother, Leroy Scheithe.
The Family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to Marva Binns for the daily care she provided. She has a special place in our hearts, and the nurses and caregivers at Vitas Healthcare for everything they do daily, not only for us, but everyone.
We also thank Dr. Michael Savarese and Dr. Henry Borkowski for all they have done for us.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11:00am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 9:30am to 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Lillian’s memory, contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 210 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770 or to Vitas Healthcare, 199 Park Road Ext., Suite 102, Middlebury, CT 06762.
