Louis C. Bennett Devoted to family, friends PROSPECT - Mr. Louis Carl Bennett, age 63, of 78 Barbara Ave., died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at his home after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the husband of Kathleen Marie (Boutot) Bennett. Mr. Bennett was born in Torrington on Aug. 11, 1947, a son of Helena (Lewandowski) Bennett of Torrington and the late Bertram Bennett. He was retired from Uniroyal Inc. in Middlebury where he worked as a chief stationary engineer for 32 years, and he was a member of the Prospect Congregational Church. He was an avid reader, New York Yankees fan and was a member of the NRA. His greatest joy was the time that he spent with his loving family and many dear friends. He was a United States Air Force veteran. Besides his wife, Mr. Bennett is survived by two daughters, Dawn Vincent and her husband, Glen, of Torrington and Shawn Bauer and her husband, Andrew, of Alexandria, N.H.; one son, Paul Bennett and his wife, Lissette, of Waterbury; four sisters, Mary Ambruster of Collingswood, N.J., Beverly Prahm of Torrington, Barbara Prahm of Torrington and Katherine "Kate" Bosco of Torrington; two brothers, Chester "Chet" Bennett of Waterbury and Stephen Bennett of Torrington; nine grandchildren, Kyle Vincent, Justine, Samuel, Rachael, Gabriel and Abigail Bauer, Ethan, Isac and Olivia Bennett; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect, to the Prospect Congregational Church for services with military honors at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury 06708.
