Madeline T. Blanchard 1939 - 2019 Waterbury, CT Madeline T. Blanchard, 80, died peacefully at her home on October 1, 2019, surrounded by loving family. Madeline was born on May 25, 1939 in Waterbury, CT daughter of the late Chester J. and Madeline T. (Bertothy) Karbowicz and had resided in Naugatuck and Waterbury all of her life. She graduated from Naugatuck High School, Class of 1957 and worked at Raphael’s Department Store in Naugatuck, Westover School in Middlebury, Meyers Supply in Naugatuck and retired 15 years ago from Fiserv in Wallingford. She was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. Madeline is survived by her children, Madeline S. Garrett and her husband, Edward W. Garrett, Jr., of Alva, FL, Anthony N. Blanchard, III and his wife, Jennifer J. Blanchard of Bethlehem, CT, Norman D. Blanchard of Waterbury, CT and Marianne E. Carlson and her husband, Gary R. Carlson of Bristol, CT; her grandchildren, Madison H. Blanchard, Ryan A. Blanchard, Eric B. Fuegen, Marissa L. Carlson and Jonathan R. Carlson. In addition to her parents, Madeline was predeceased by a son, John Blanchard. All services will be private, there are no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers and to honor Madeline’s memory, contributions can be made to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708 or to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr, Wallingford, CT 06492. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
