Waterbury, CT Margaret Cagno, 93, the widow of Corado Cagno, died peacefully on December 31, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Margaret was born on October 11, 1924 in New Bedford, MA a daughter of the late John and Mary (Machado) Pacheco. She lived in Waterbury for the past 4 years, having lived most of her life in Naugatuck. Margaret is survived by her sons, Stephen Cagno and his wife, Madeline Cagno of Wolcott and James Cagno and his wife, Susan Cagno of Naugatuck; her grandchildren, Megan Cagno and her spouse, Lisa Kinsman, Marcie Syed and her husband, Fwaz, Danielle Cagno, Daryl Cagno and his wife, Melissa, Nick Negretti and his wife, Nicole, Kevin Cagno, Sarah Negretti, Stefanie Cagno and Michael Cagno; her 6 great grandchildren, her 3 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Margaret was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Dionne, her granddaughter, Amy Beth Cagno, her brothers, Arthur, John and Richard and her sisters, Mary, Del, Jessie and Pally. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 at 11:00am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 3-5pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers and to honor Margaret’s memory, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
