Naugatuck-Mrs. Maria Adelia (Vieira) Branco,73 , of 169 Wedgewood Dr. , died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Nuno O. Branco Sr. Mrs. Branco was born July 27, 1936 in Monte, Murtosa, Portugal, daughter of the late Joao and Belmira ( Oliveira) Vieira. She was a former employee of the Naugatuck Glass Co. and Uniroyal, Inc. She was a member of the Senhoras de Auxiliares of Clube Uniao Portuguesa and the A.A.R.P. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Mrs. Branco is survived by one daughter, Mariana Barnes and her husband Andy of Naugatuck. Two sons, Nuno O. Branco Jr. and his fiancee Tracy and Fernando Branco Sr. and his wife Teresa both of Naugatuck. One sister, Brigida Pregano of Naugatuck and three brothers, John Vieira of Waterbury, Tony Vieira of Northfield and Henrique "Rick" Vieira of Torrington.Three grandchildren, Lana Barnes, Fernando Branco Jr. and Jack Henry Branco all of Naugatuck. The funeral will be held on Wednesday Dec. 2, 2009 at 9:30 AM from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeeral Home 82 Fairview Ave to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass at 10 AM. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-8 P.M.
