Naugatuck, CT Marion E. Freer, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 12, 2015, surrounded by her family at the Watertown Convalarium. Born on August 26, 1924 in Saugatuck, CT to the late Thomas and Edith McFarland, she was the loving mother of 3 children and grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Marion was the devoted wife of the late Kenneth Freer. She was predeceased by her son Thomas Freer, who had lived in Naugatuck. Marion is survived by her 2 daughters and their spouses; Lynn and Bill Stults of Naugatuck, Kathy and Jerry Poulin of Terryville and her daughter in law, Charlotte Freer of Naugatuck, her grandchildren, Colleen and her husband Carl Wagner, Kenny and his wife Kim Freer, Billy Stults, Lori Gallagher, Tommy and his wife Jana Freer, Amy and her husband Brian Volovski and Emily Kausyla, and her 13 great grandchildren, Sarah, Jimmy, Ethan, Mitchell, Nikolaus, Greta, Justin, Jakob, Grace, David, Zachary, Seth and Andrew. The family would like to thank everyone at the Watertown Convalarium for the care, compassion and love they showed to Marion. Funeral Services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue. To honor Marion’s memory, contributions may be made to the Watertown Convalarium Recreation Department, 560 Woodbury Road, Watertown, CT 06795.
