Waterbury-Mary (DiMaria) Burnop, 92, of 2 North Main Street, recently of Abbott Terrace passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of George Burnop. Mrs. Burnop was born on November 20, 1917 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary DiMaria-Mollica. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Waterbury and a member of both the North End Recreational Center and the Palladino Recreational Center. She was an avid bingo player and an avid Tatting Lady. She is survived by one daughter, Florence Violette and her husband Fred of Prospect, one son George Burnop of Waterbury, two grandsons, Jeffrey and Brian. She was predeceased by one son, Robert Burnop, three brothers, Joseph DiMaria, Ciro DiMaria and Dennis Mollica, and one sister Josephine Varsolone. A Private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to: St. Vincent DePaul Society, P.O. Box 1612, Waterbury, CT 06721.
