Mary Ann Dean Obituary

Mary Ann Dean 1944 – 2019 Naugatuck, CT Mary was born on November 28, 1944 and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. Resident of Naugatuck, and Southbury CT, born in Ossining NY, to Margaret and Chester Brown. She is predeceased by two brothers Chester, and Wilson. She is also predeceased by Charles E. Dean her loving husband, two daughters Mary Ann Davis, and Patricia Lynn Dean and grandson Jeff Davis. The family prays that they all rest in peace. Mary is survived by her three daughters, 15 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. Susan A Houle of Danbury CT, Penny E Havanick of Missouri, Lois B Barcomb & her husband Eric Barcomb of Naugatuck CT, Jennifer, Jessica, Justina, Dylan Davis, Jonathan Caporuscio, Jacqueline and Leroy Spears, Melissa Dean, Katelynn & her husband Cody Hadden, Joshua Houle, Richard Houle, William Houle, Cassandra Dean, Christina, Eric Jr & his wife Denise Barcomb. Mary had many nicknames that she went by, her family deemed her: old lady, Lovey, Neen, Neener, Neeners, Nana, and always Nena. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting in which she made an outfit and blanket for all her 15 grandchildren, and 18 of her great grandchildren, as well as doing other projects in between outfits, such as making Queen sized blankets, hats, and door hangers. Nena was also a crazy lady bingo player. Always winning game after game, Nena always had more than enough money stashed away for the next Bingo night and going to visit Susan and her family after bingo for coffee and food. Nena always enjoyed a good cook out with music, food, family, and friends. She was always laughing, joking and adding some sarcasm to the night to lighten the mood. She enjoyed spending time with her animals, Crier whom passed her side 3 years ago, Squirt, Mittens, and Tesla whom she loved and enjoyed very much playing with the laser pointer and always getting a laugh out of them. With the many things she loved such as frequent napping, getting a pedicure when she had time and spending time with family. She really hated tomatoes, eggs, onions, and mushrooms. Speaking on behalf of her grandkids, I will say that we will miss her inappropriate jokes, her always cooking for us, sleep overs at neens house, countless hugs, and Neener looks! She also had a habit of stealing Oreo cupcakes from Eric Jr and fighting with him over it, along with many family memories. If you asked Nena why she put salt in the potatoes it was because it took all the starch out of them. Though we have all suffered a great loss, and are all pained this November, and Thanksgiving season; we are happy to say that after the past several months of health issues, Mary has been lead to the lord by Pastor Mark Passmore, and has entered a life of eternal greatness. Mary’s family invites you, and your fond memories to come celebrate her life on December 8th 1:00pm-7:00pm At American Legion Club in Naugatuck, CT. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
