Naugatuck - Mr. Narciso Jose Pereira, age 89, of Naugatuck, died peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Sunday February 24,2013 after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Maria Rosa Pereira.

Mr. Pereira was Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1923 a son of the late Vicente Jose and Clementina Pereira. He was retired from Heritage Village where he worked as a landscaper for many years and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury.

Mr. Pereira is survived by a daughter, Maria Fonseca and her husband Antonio of Mount Vernon, New York, four sons, Manuel Pereira and his wife Diane of Watertown, Joao Pereira of Naugatuck, Adelino Pereira of Naugatuck and Jose Pereira of Naugatuck, five grandchildren, Joao Carlos Fonseca of Mount Vernon, N.Y., Sandra Zilka of Gilbert, AZ, Christina Mercado of Waterbury, Daniel Pereira of Watertown and Jessica Pereira of Naugatuck, great granddaughter, Sophia Mercado of Waterbury and long time family friend, Fernanda Mortagua of Mount Vernon, N.Y.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 28,2013 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church 2071 Baldwin St. Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 82 Fairview Ave. Naugatuck is in charge of arrangements.
