NAUGATUCK - Mr. Philip F. Ouimette, age 66, of 320 Wedgewood Drive, died suddenly on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Bernadette (Lawson) Ouimette. Mr. Ouimette was born in Torrington on June 8, 1944, a son of the late Stanley and Lucy (Smith) Ouimette. He was retired as a truck driver from Red Star Trucking and was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was a member of the Thomaston Fish and Game Club. Besides his wife, Mr. Ouimette is survived by a daughter, Lori Usakiewicz and her husband, Michael, of Prospect; two sons, Philip Ouimette Jr. of Naugatuck and Steven Ouimette of Las Vegas, Nev.; five sisters, Barbara Loomis of Tennessee, Diane DiNapoli of New Jersey, Kathy Veech of Woodbury, Nancy Maxim of Naugatuck and June Bassett of Southbury; four brothers, Stanley J. Ouimette of California, Raymond Ouimette of California, Stanley P. Ouimette of Seymour and Donald Ouimette of Woodbury; seven grandchildren, Kellie-Lyn, Michael, Katie, Paige, Philip III, Julie and Brittany; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Wacunis. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at 8:15 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, to St. Mary Magdalen Church, 145 Buckingham St., Oakville, for a Mass at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Elise Cemetery in Middlebury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Magdalen School, 140 Buckingham St., Oakville 06779.
