Naugatuck-Ralph A. Wilkins, 83, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Valdee (Jones) Wilkins . Mr. Wilkins was born on January 12, 1931 in New York, NY, a son of the late Clarence Wilkins and Inez (Sutherland) Wilkins. He retired from the Naugatuck School system. He taught for 35 years and was principal for both Cross Street School and then Western School where he retired from. Besides his wife Valdee he is survived by a daughter, Kandace Quarterson and her husband Michael of Somerville, MA, a son, David Wilkins and his wife Denise of Naugatuck, one sister, Mary Richardson of NH, three brothers, Peter Grunert, Robert Grunert, and Frank Grunert. He will also be missed by his two grandsons, Jonathan and Daniel Wilkins. The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck to St. Francis of Assisi Church for a mass at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
