Raymond J. Arnold Jr. Thule Inc. retiree PROSPECT — Mr. Raymond J. "Joe" Arnold Jr., age 61, of Matthew Street, died Friday, May 20, 2011, at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Kathryn (Frederick) Arnold. Mr. Arnold was born in Waterbury on Aug. 23, 1949, son of Raymond and Edith Arnold of Morris, N.Y. He was a retired assembler from Thule Inc. in Seymour. He was a family man, devoted to his family and friends, and gave freely and generously of himself. His hobbies included his tractors, spray painting, tinkering in the yard and making things for others. Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Arnold is survived by a sister, Edith McFarlin and her husband, Dennis, of Naugatuck; a sister-in-law, Nora Frederick of Prospect; his very close nephew, Daniel McFarlin and his wife, Catherine, and their children, Aidan, Brendan, Dane and Danielle, who gave him many hours of enjoyment and laughter; several other nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Mischa, and many good and generous friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Jean Chapman. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at 11 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect, to Prospect Cemetery for graveside services and burial at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to an animal rescue foundation of the donor's choice.
