Robert Reilly

Robert Joseph Reilly, 52, of Naugatuck, passed away unexpectedly, December 20, 2009. He was born in Waterbury, CT on May 10, 1957, the son of Barbara (Raytkwich) Reilly of Naugatuck and the late Joseph R. Reilly. An eighteen year veteran of the Naugatuck Public Works Department. Rob attended St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School having served as an altar boy and was a 1976 graduate of Naugatuck High School. Rob had a huge heart and was always the first there when a friend needed him. An avid volunteer, Rob was a member of the Naugatuck Volunteer Ambulance, the Ancient order of Hibernians and the Naugatuck Lodge of Elks. Along with his love for his family and friends, Rob was passionate about boating and motorcycling. He was a proud member of the "Over the Hill Gang". In addition to his mother, Rob is survived by his fiancé, Barbara Scott of Naugatuck, his daughter Rachel Reilly and her fiancé, Chris Sullivan; his son Airman First Class Cavan Reilly who is stationed in Qatar; a sister Mary Crayford of Naugatuck, three brothers, Thomas Reilly and his wife Joanne of VT, Matthew Reilly and his wife Nancy of Naugatuck and Timothy Reilly and his wife Joan of Naugatuck and ten nieces and nephews. Rob was well known for his keen sense of humor and was dearly loved by all who were lucky enough to have known him. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck to St. Francis of Assisi Church for a mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
