Roger Kennedy Obituary

Waterbury-Roger J. Kennedy, 77, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dolande (Beaulieu) Kennedy . Mr. Kennedy was born on May 14, 1933 in Baker Lac, New Brunswick, Canada, a son of the late Victor and Laura (Collin) Kennedy. He was retired from O & G in Southbury where he worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a communicant and member of the Holy Name Society of the Shrine of St. Anne and enjoyed volunteering his time at bingo. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 677, KOFC and also worked for Gary's Auto Parts in Waterbury for 12 years. Roger's favorite pastime was tending to his lawn and cars but his favorite activity was spending time with his family. His sharp sense of humor could make anyone smile. Besides his wife of Waterbury he is also survived by three daughters, Susan Collins and her husband Pierre of Waterbury, Denise Walker and her husband Jeff of Harwinton, and Diane Eichman and her husband Frank of Thomaston, two sisters, Dora Lizotte and Jaqueline Soucy both of New Brunswick, Canada, four brothers, Benoit Kennedy of Manchester, Medard Kennedy of Oakville, Norman and Robert Kennedy of Waterbury, five grandchildren, Matthew Collins and his wife Jennifer, Jeffrey Collins, Jason St. John, Danielle and Chad Eichman, and one great-grandson, Matthew Collins Jr. He also leaves his beloved Cat, Tinou. He was predeceased one sister, Marie Mae Harvey and one brother Morill Kennedy. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Shrine of St. Anne's Church, 515 South Main St at 10:00 a.m. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect on Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Shrine of St. Ann Church, 515 S.
