Ruth Zagroba

Thomaston-Ruth Diane (Gribinas) Zagroba, 61, of 196 Valley View Rd, died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Ruth was born in Waterbury a daughter of Beatrice (Czingus) Gribinas of Naugatuck and the late Victor Gribinas. She was employed for many years as a display designer for Michael's Jewelers and retired after many years as a Manager of Saint Mary's Auxiliary Gift Shop. She attended Naugatuck Public Schools and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, class of 1966, and Paier College of Art, class of 1970. Ms. Zagroba was an avid antiques collector. She also loved gardening, decorating and dancing. Besides her mother of Naugatuck she is also survived by her brother and sister in law, Richard and Geri Gribinas. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte 69, Prospect to St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church for a mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
