Naugatuck-Sophia Rose DaSilva, age 10, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford surrounded by her loving family. Sophia was born on August 8, 2000 in Derby, daughter of Aires and Miquelina DaSilva. She enjoyed scrap booking, swimming, art projects and soccer. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a larger than life sense of humor and a smile to go with it. Sophia was an all around great person and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Besides her parents of Naugatuck she is also survived by her maternal grandparents Firmino and Maria (Alcina) Teixeira, paternal grandparents, Alberto and Candida DaSilva as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins and a great-grandmother. The funeral will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St, Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect on Thursday evening from 4-7 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to: American Cancer Society/New England Division P.O.
