Thomas F. Casey Uniroyal retiree MIDDLEBURY — Mr. Thomas F. Casey, age 90, of 500 Woodside Ave., died Friday, July 1, 2011, at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. He was predeceased in 1984 by his wife, Mary (Donnely) Casey, who was an English teacher at Naugatuck High School for 30 years. Mr. Casey was born in Waterbury on Sept. 30, 1920, a son of the late John and Mary (Hanley) Casey. He was a retired employee of the Uniroyal Inc. Chemical Division in Naugatuck and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served with the Big Red One during World War II. Mr. Casey is survived by a daughter, Damian C. Burton of Norfolk, Va.; a son, John W. Casey of New York; his longtime friend, Mabel Schuster of Middlebury; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect. Burial will be in Old St. Joseph Cemetery in Waterbury.
