Violet “Vi” (Empoliti) Perry Naugatuck, CT - Mrs. Violet “Vi” (Empoliti) Perry, 95, of Naugatuck, died peacefully July 27, 2014 at her home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Robert Perry and was a lifelong Naugatuck resident. Mrs. Perry retired from Uniroyal, Inc., where she had worked for over forty years. She enjoyed dancing, singing and performing and was a long standing member of the Naugatuck Kollege Kapers. Vi once gave a show stopping performance in Guys and Dolls while performing with the Cheshire Community Theater. Mrs. Perry is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Perry Weid and her daughter and son in law Billie Rachuba and Edward Rachuba. Four grandchildren, Melissa Lowe and her husband David Lowe, Chastity Weid, Robert Rachuba and his wife Kristen Rachuba and Heather Ramos and her husband Robert Ramos. Five great grandchildren, Stephen, Mikayla, Lilah, Lily and Ryan and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11:00am at St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. To honor Vi’s memory, contributions may be made to Flora’s Pet Project, 38 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT 06770, or to Stray Katz, 14 South View Avenue, Wolcott, CT 06716. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue.
