THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF EDWARD BOUFFARD SR WATERTOWN – Edward Logan Bouffard Sr., age 83 of Oakville, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Saint Mary’s Hospital on Sunday, June 14th 2020. Edward was born on September 25th 1936 in New York, New York, the son of the late Edward J. Bouffard and Elisabeth (Sawonchak) Bouffard. In 1945, his father lost his life in Germany serving the U.S. Army during World War II. Edward was raised in Waterbury CT and graduated from Crosby High School. He entered the U.S. Air Force in June of 1955. While in the Air Force he worked as an air traffic controller. After being honorably discharged, Edward began his career with CT Light & Power (Eversource), retiring after 35 years of faithful service. Edward was a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan. He enjoyed bowling at the Elks Club, watching Jeopardy and gardening but his greatest joy was being around his family. He will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. Left to honor Edward’s legacy and cherish his love and memory are his daughters; Janet Fisher and her husband Jeffrey, and Cheryl Rykowski, his son, Edward Bouffard Jr. and his wife, Judith. Edward was blessed with five grandchildren, Nicholas Fisher, Karli Fisher, Stephen Bouffard, Jenna Rykowski and Thomas Rykowski. Edward also leaves behind his companion and best friend forever, Lucille Guisti, his sister Carol Nido and sister-in-law, Naima Bouffard, brother-in-law Richard (Margaret) Petit. He also leaves behind, Lisa (Ricky) Labonte & Rene (Susan) Gagnon who he resided with while growing up, his cousin, Claire Robidoux and several nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his brother, Roger Bouffard and his brother-in-law, Julius Nido.. The family would like to acknowledge that Edward’s final act was to give the most precious gift of life a tissue donation through New England Donor Services. Funeral services for Mr. Bouffard Sr. will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated St. Mary Magdalen Church, 16 Buckingham St, Oakville, CT 06779 at 10:30 a.m. Those planning to attend are reminded that all guidelines issued by the Archdiocese will be strictly enforced. Family and friends may visit at O’Neill Funeral Home on Friday morning from 8:30 until it’s time to process to the church service at 10:30 a.m. Phase II attendance restrictions will be enforced. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. To honor Edward’s memory and in lieu of flowers, contributions in Edward’s name may be made to the Watertown Fire Department, 935 Main St Watertown Ct 06779.
