Jeffrey L Crable Obituary

THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF JEFFREY CRABLE. “Longtime WARC Associate” WATERBURY- Jeffrey Lawrence Crable, age 72, of Waterbury passed away peacefully on Saturday March 13th 2021 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital. Jeff was born on September 27, 1948 in Oklahoma, son of the late Alvin Lawrence Crable, Jr., and Elaine Frances Barnes. His paternal grandparents were Alvin Lawrence Crable, Sr. and Claudia Mae Church, his maternal grandparents were Ledru Barnes and Hazel Anna Haver. Jeff’s parents moved from Oklahoma to the Chicago, Illinois, area in the 1950s and on to Connecticut in the 1960s. Jeff enjoyed several jobs with vocational supports through WARC in Waterbury for many years. He was well liked by staff and peers, and enjoyed after work activities including bowling, as well as an annual talent show. Jeff loved to watch wrestling and sports on TV and was a Yankees and Cowboys fan. Jeff enjoyed his home of many years with Greg, Liz, Gary and John. They will fondly remember Jeff's love of socializing and joking around every day. Jeff previously lived at Hillside Equestrian Meadows in Wolcott CT and has fond memories of his time there. Jeff's family would like to thank the Chouinards, WARC and Community Residences Inc for the years of support they provided to Jeff. Jeff was predeceased by all of his grandparents; his mother died in 1962, and his father in 2000. He is survived by his stepmother, Catherine Crable, his sister, Marianne Langston and brothers; William and James Crable in addition to a number of Barnes family cousins in Oklahoma who fondly remember Jeff as a very special part of the Barnes family. This “group” gathered regularly at the home of “Grannie Barnes” for holidays and other family gatherings. Jeff’s outgoing nature and friendliness were notable at an early age, and these traits never changed. He loved to interact with people and had an amazing memory for names. When Jeff’s mother died, his father made cemetery arrangements in Oklahoma for both of them. Jeff will be interred next to his mother at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The O’Neill Funeral Home has been honored to assist and care for Jeff and his family during this difficult time. Memories only endure if you share them, so you are encouraged to leave words of comfort or a personal message with Jeff’s family on his tribute page at wwwoneillfuneralhome.com
