THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF ROGER CHARBONNEAU SR. “Renown Car Restorer” OAKVILLE- Roger Emile Charbonneau Sr. 77, husband of Corienne (Austin) Charbonneau passed away peacefully at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Born in Waterbury, CT on July 7, 1943, Roger was the son of the late Firmin and Laura (LaPrade) Charbonneau. Roger was the retired chief mechanic for the Town of Watertown for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter and a member of the Watertown Customs Car Club. Roger was nationally known for restoring the class A Pickup “Bad News” along with his late friend, Charlie Boucher. He was an innovator in automotive restoration including antiques. He was the proud owner of his 1951 flat black chopped Mercury which is not for sale. Roger will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him. Besides Corienne his devoted wife of 56 years, Roger leaves to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his two sons; Roger Charbonneau Jr. and his wife, Jamie Wright of Shelton, Michael Charbonneau and his wife, Jean of Oakville, his brother, Raymond and his wife, Judy Charbonneau of Bethlehem, his sister, Claudette Hypsh of FL, nine grandchildren, three great grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Wilfred Charbonneau. Walk through calling hours to visit with the Charbonneau family will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at O’Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St. in Oakville from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. We are all still very concerned about everyone’s health and safety so all federal and state guidelines relative to COVID #19 will be observed but you can be assured of a safe, orderly and comforting environment to express your support to the Charbonneau family. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
