Barbara (Rick) Morrill, 75, of Ellington, beloved wife of Malcolm Morrill passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 4, 1942 in Cambridge, MA, the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Loprete) Rick. She graduated from Rockville High School in 1959 and attended UConn. She worked for Pratt & Whitney Research, Hartmanns Supermarket and Big Y. She enjoyed raising cockatiels and finches. Besides her loving husband of 54 years, she is survived by her three children and their spouses, Steven and Kim Morrill, Beth and David Spielman all of Ellington, and Amy and John Coleman of Newport, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Michael Flanagan of Vernon, Dane Spielman of Ellington, Kaylyn Chasse of Coventry, Nathan Morrill of Willington, and Rebecca and Robin Morrill both of Ellington; her two great grandchildren, Leo Flanagan of Vernon and Colton Spielman of Ellington; and her sister, Carol (Rick) Smith of Columbia Falls, Maine. The family would like to thank the staff of the VNA Hospice especially Lisa, Allison and Nancy and Dr. Thumar and his staff. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, CT 06066 for memorial calling hours.
