Evelyn Dearstyne

Evelyn M. (Sisson) Dearstyne, 82, of Tolland, beloved wife of 64 years to Richard Dearstyne, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born January 13, 1935, one of 13 children, in Lutheranville, NY to the late Lawrence and Margaret (Allen) Sisson. She moved from NY to CT in 1965 where she has lived ever since. Evelyn had a passion for quilting to whom she passed on to many students. She taught vacation bible school at Tolland Baptist church and especially loved to bake for others. She raised four children in Tolland and was very dedicated to her family and had a caring heart for all children. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children; Ronald M. Dearstyne and his wife Ann, Joanne D. Kupferschmid and her husband Dean, Bonnie L. Walker and her husband Dwight and Lori A. Dearstyne, her grandchildren; Kim Ruiz, Tammie Kupferschmid, Tara Walker, Christy Walker, Katherine Abrego, Jennifer Boudle, Ashley Dearstyne, Richard Nelson, Christopher Dearstyne and Anastasia Ratushnuk; 8 great grandchildren and many extended family members. Relatives and friends may join the family Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 8:30-10:30 am at Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect st, Rockville. A Funeral Home Service will take place at 10:30.
