Joseph Roland Willis, Sr., 88, of Ellington, beloved husband of Honora (Lehane) Willis passed away Friday, March 10, 2017. He was born August 25, 1928 in Crystal Lake, Ellington, the son of the late George and Omilean (Minor) Willis. He was a farmer, fireman commissioner for 56 years, police constable in Ellington and a 38yr. postal worker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports. He was very kind, loving and caring. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Anita Marie Willis of Stafford Springs, Joseph Roland Willis, Jr. of Ellington, Theodore Scott Willis of Enfield, Heather Spellman of Stafford, Roderick Addicott and Bryan Addicott of Ellington; his sister, Delly Tomasek of Tolland; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel Raymond Willis and 12 siblings. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, CT 06066. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 1 PM at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
